Default Sword attack speed

I've been having fun with Illusionary Weaponry on my mesmer lately, and I am currently using an Icy Dragon Sword. However, I want to know if other swords have a higher attack speed, because that would make IW more effective.

So...does anyone know if there are any differences in attack speed from sword to sword?

Any help in solving this mystery will be very appreciated!

They're all the same at 1.33 seconds. Bows are the only weapons that differ in attack speed.

And there's a bloody good reason for that. I just advise you as well, daggers are 1.33 secs, and anything else will either be that or slower.

Yup, daggers, swords, and axes are all 1.33 sec/swing. Hence the popularity of flurry with IW. You'll want to avoid a hammer, though, as they're slower, and you don't get the use of an offhand item (I use the rockmoulder, for example).
